At Pure Piercing we try to be flexible where possible but believe that piercing should only be performed with informed consent.

Anybody below the age of 18 must have consent from a parent/legal guardian. Under 16’s will require a parent/guardian present at the appointment. Parents/guardians will need to present valid photo ID upon giving consent.

Under 18’s require written consent from a parent/legal guardian. This should include the guardians name, email and signature, along with a copy of their valid photo ID (this can be a clear photograph, rather than the physical copy).

Ear Lobe Piercings: 8 years+
We can be a little flexible with the age limit for children that show maturity and understanding early. We require a child to be Gillick competent and able to consent to the piercing. It is important for parents to know, if the child changes their mind at any point, we will not continue with the service as we no longer have their consent. If we pierce one ear and the child then changes their mind, we cannot go ahead with the other. We find it helps prepare children by letting them know it will hurt a little but will be over quickly.

• Ear Cartilage Piercings: 14 years+ (can be flexible with a parent present)

• Facial Piercings: (not including lips): 14 years+

• Navel Piercings: 14 years+

• Lip Piercings: 16 years+ with valid photo ID ONLY

• Oral Piercings: 16 years+ with valid photo ID ONLY

• Dermal & Surface Piercings: 16 years+ with valid photo ID ONLY

• Nipple Piercings: 18 years+ with valid photo ID ONLY

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Pure Piercing website and your purchase of services from any Pure Piercing studio location. By booking an appointment, visiting our studios, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. Pure Piercing operates in accordance with UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Data Protection Act 2018, and UK health and safety regulations.

2. About Us

Pure Piercing specialises exclusively in professional body piercing services. We are committed to delivering safe, hygienic, and professional piercing experiences across our UK studio locations. All piercings are carried out by trained professionals using implant-grade titanium or 14ct gold jewellery in line with industry best practice.

3. Eligibility & Age Requirements

Piercing services are subject to strict age policies.

• Anyone under 18 years old must provide valid parental/legal guardian consent.
• Under 16s must have a parent or guardian present during the appointment.
• Certain piercings require valid photo ID regardless of age.
• Nipple piercings are strictly 18+ with valid photo ID only.

We reserve the right to refuse service where valid identification or consent cannot be provided. All clients must be capable of giving informed consent. We will not perform piercings on anyone who appears intoxicated or otherwise unable to consent.

4. Bookings & Payments

4.1 Appointment Bookings

Appointments may be made online or in person, subject to availability. Walk-ins may be accommodated where possible but are not guaranteed. Booking confirmations and reminders may be sent via email and/or SMS through our booking system provider (e.g., Setmore).

4.2 Payment

• Full payment for standard piercings (including basic titanium jewellery) is required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.
• Jewellery upgrades are payable in-store at the time of your appointment.
• All prices are listed in GBP (£).

We reserve the right to amend pricing at any time. However, confirmed bookings will be honoured at the agreed price.

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

5.1 Cancellations

Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 12 hours before the scheduled time. Cancellations made within this timeframe will receive a full refund.

5.2 Late Cancellations & No Shows

No refunds will be issued for:

• No-shows
• Late arrivals that cannot be accommodated
• Failure to present valid ID
• Failure to provide required consent documentation

5.3 Refunds

Due to the nature of body piercing services and hygiene standards, services already performed are non-refundable. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method where applicable.

6. Health & Medical Responsibility

Before any piercing, clients must complete a consent and medical questionnaire. You agree that:

• All medical information provided is accurate and truthful.
• You will disclose any relevant medical conditions.
• You understand the risks associated with body piercing.

Pure Piercing reserves the right to refuse service if a medical condition presents a safety concern. We cannot pierce clients who are pregnant.

7. Anatomy & Placement Disclaimer

All piercings are anatomy dependent. Not every piercing is suitable for every individual. Placement decisions are made based on professional assessment of:

• Tissue suitability
• Healing viability
• Jewellery compatibility

We reserve the right to decline performing a piercing if we believe it would not heal safely or successfully.

8. Aftercare & Client Responsibility

Aftercare instructions will be provided verbally and via email.

It is the client’s responsibility to:

• Follow aftercare guidance
• Maintain proper hygiene
• Avoid irritants and unsafe behaviours
• Attend recommended downsizing appointments

Pure Piercing is not responsible for complications arising from:

• Failure to follow aftercare advice
• Changing jewellery prematurely
• Use of inappropriate jewellery
• Trauma, impact, or improper cleaning

Healing times vary and are not guaranteed.

9. Downsizing & Jewellery

Initial jewellery is fitted to allow for swelling. Clients are responsible for attending recommended downsizing appointments within the advised timeframe. We strongly advise against changing jewellery yourself during the healing period. We are not liable for complications resulting from:

• Use of external jewellery purchased elsewhere
• Low-quality or incompatible materials
• Incorrect self-removal or refitting

10. Complications & Medical Issues

While we adhere to the highest hygiene and sterilisation standards, body piercing carries inherent risks including:

• Swelling
• Infection
• Migration
• Rejection
• Irritation bumps

If you suspect infection or serious complications, you should seek medical advice immediately. Our staff are not medically qualified to diagnose infections but can provide general guidance.

11. Gift Vouchers (If Applicable)

• They are non-refundable and non-transferable.
• They must be redeemed within the validity period stated.
• Lost or stolen vouchers cannot be replaced.

12. Website Use

• Not to misuse the site or attempt to gain unauthorised access.
• Not to copy, reproduce, or distribute content without permission.
• To use the website only for lawful purposes.

We reserve the right to update website content at any time.

13. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:

• Death or personal injury caused by negligence
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
• Any liability which cannot legally be excluded under UK law

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pure Piercing shall not be liable for:

• Indirect or consequential loss
• Loss of earnings
• Loss arising from failure to follow aftercare advice
• Rejection or migration of long-term temporary piercings (e.g., dermals and surface piercings)

Our total liability shall not exceed the value of the service provided.

14. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including logos, text, graphics, and images, is the property of Pure Piercing and may not be reproduced without written permission.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be published on our website with the revised date. Continued use of our services following updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
